Night Singer
This comes out of a prayer God gave me for a special worship leader. To all you worship leaders out there – it is a heartfelt thank you.
The melody haunts the night air. Its sweet clarity cuts through the darkness with a hope that stirs the heart of listeners. It compels them to follow the sound to its source – a nightingale perched high in a tree.
Surrounded by the same night as her listeners, she is oblivious to it. Her joyful abandon comes instinctually, without effort, as she worships the creator she knows deep within. Her inner light is birthed into the stillness. So intent is she on worship that she notices not the impact. Her attention remains on the love circling between her and the focus of her heart – her Lord.
But the warmth of that light seeps into the bones of her listeners. It awakens new, fresh hope within and works its way to outward reflection on their faces. Their fears disappear in the glory and grace of their creator. Strength infuses them. Joy bubbles into the fleeing darkness as dawn arises.
Sing, nightingale. Lead us to the throne room of our God where we may encounter His life changing presence.
A chain that held her to the branch breaks, releasing her to share her song in a multitude of forests.
Friends,
Here’s the text response from the worship leader God downloaded this prayer for.
“Oh my goodness… thank you Karen. This is so beautiful. I was just laying here in bed, asking the Lord some questions and feeling a little disconnected from his purposes, wondering what he was thinking… then your text came in. What beautiful timing. I feel seen by Jesus.”
God is just THAT good. He sees you. And His response for you is one of love, just as it is for this person. He literally gave me all these words as prayer for her this morning. I wonder who He has praying for you.
