I Wonder
“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world…”So says John 3:17a
Did you know that? Did you know Jesus didn’t come to condemn us? He’s not up in heaven wagging His finger at us and shaking His head.
He doesn’t delight in berating us, He delights IN us. Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
The rest of John 3:17? “but that they through Him (Jesus) might have eternal life.
So, He came not to condemn us, but to provide the way for us to be forever free from condemnation.
Hmmm. I wonder…
What would happen if we quit berating ourselves? If instead, we rejoiced in the love He pours out on us? And in our love for Him?
I wonder…
What would happen in our lives if instead of using our energy to think of how bad we are, we chose to think about how wonderful He is? Instead of ruminating on our failures we pondered on His forgiveness, His cleansing.
I wonder…
What would happen if instead of thinking about how bad, how scary our circumstances are we focused on how capable He is of taking care of us in every situation?
(He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. Psalm 23:2)
I wonder…
Would we begin to see victory in our lives? Would we see God at work in ways, and in situations, we thought could never change. (Big God)
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that they through Him might have eternal life.
I wonder
… which is harder for Him… eternal life in the future, or eternal LIFE starting now?
